First Apricot-Picking Festival kicks off in Airport New City

The First Apricot-Picking Festival kicked off in Taiping Bay in Taiping town, Airport New City, Xixian New Area on May 24, along with an E-Commerce Poverty Alleviation Promotion Meeting.

With a theme of developing Taiping town's tourism industry, the festival aims to further Taiping's efforts to establish a tourism system that will make the town suitable for year-round sightseeing and endow it with abundant juicy fruits. 

Hosted by the people's government of Taiping town and organized by Shaanxi Natural Ecological Agriculture Co, the festival will run until June 3. 

Located in Taiping Bay, which extends to the Jinghe River Wetland in the north and the Taiping Plateau in the south, the Taiping apricot and jujube plantation covers an area of 26,000mu (1,733.33 hectares).

Taiping apricots are known for their bright color, strong fruity flavor and sweet and sour pulp.
