Xixian holds 'Belt and Road' makers run

The "Belt and Road" maker run was successfully held in the Energy Finance Trade Zone of the Xixian New Area on June 2.

Zhong Man and Qian Hong, two Olympic champions, were invited to take part in the activity. Following their lead, about 1,000 makerspace employees, university students and business representatives ran along the Fengwei River.

Wang Fei, deputy director of the Xixian New Area administrative committee, recapped the launch of Xixian's innovative entrepreneurship plan in 2017, extending hopes that more talents will join in driving the development of Xixian.

The event incorporated hundreds of overseas students from countries along the Belt and Road. One such student from Belgium noted that he liked the atmosphere of the event and anticipated the chance to communicate more with local people.

According to Meng Qingzhen, a makerspace employee in Xixian, the "Belt and Road" maker run was a distinguished event, receiving an enthusiastic response.
