The store was built with $108 million by the Swedish IKEA Group, one of the world’s top 500 and the largest household goods retailer, as its first branch in northwest China.
It is a national flagship shop that integrates product display, sales, delivery and after-sales services, and is located on 60,000-square-meters of land southeast of the Sanqiao Viaduct with a total floor area of about 80,000 square meters.
The project is predicted to make 1.5 billion yuan in annual sales and 200 million yuan in taxes.
2. Construction progress
Building began on Feb 21, 2014 after the land use right was approved and a construction company established.
During January to October of 2014, 290 million yuan was invested, 116 percent of the planned annual budget. By November 2014, the foundation treatment was finished and steel structure assembling started.
3. Plan for 2014
With an investment of 250 million yuan the project was planned to be advanced to completion of the foundation and start of the steel structure assembling work.
